Dedicated to community upliftment, educational support, financial independence, and cultural preservation since 1999.

Association Overview & History

  • Name & Registration: Gadag District Devanga Employees Association (Gadag Jilla Devanga Nokerara Sangha, Reg.), officially established and registered on May 30, 1999.
  • Office Location: Located at D. Sri L.N. Guggiri's property on Badami Road, Betageri-Gadag, providing free space for an office, library, and bride-groom information center until a permanent building is constructed.

Key Objectives

  • Education & Culture: Undertaking social, educational, religious, and cultural activities.
  • Support for Underprivileged: Assisting poor, middle-class, and labor-class student children by providing scholarships, awards, and educational support.
  • Skill Development & Training: Offering free coaching and training to help community members secure employment and self-employment.
  • Honoring Achievers: Recognizing and honoring community luminaries, senior citizens, and talented achievers across various fields.

Major Activities & Programs

  • Personality Development Camps: Conducted across various talukas and Gadag-Betageri for Devanga student youth featuring expert teachers and scholars.
  • Textbook Distribution: Free distribution of school textbooks to poor and middle-class students.
  • Training Programs: Affordable computer training and free C.E.T. / primary school teacher recruitment coaching conducted under the association.
  • Merit Awards: Annual awards given to students securing top ranks in SSLC and PUC exams, along with stationery gifts for first-class passing students.
  • Bride-Groom Meets: Periodically organized events (such as state and international-level meets) to help families find suitable matches.
  • Felicitation of Achievers: Regular recognition and honoring of prominent community achievers and retired government employees.

Special Initiatives & Funds

  • Trust Fund Scheme (Datta Nidhi): Started in July 2000 to provide cash prize awards for SSLC and PUC students using the interest accrued from patron donations.
  • Co-operative Society (Pathina Sahakari Sangha): Inaugurated on February 25, 2001, to foster financial self-reliance among Devanga employees by providing loans and financial assistance under simplified terms, along with dividend distributions.
  • Sri Gayatri Temple Construction: Construction of a temple for Goddess Gayatridevi on the association's plot, which has reached the plinth level through member and donor contributions.

Future Proposed Activities

Educational Institutions

Starting educational institutions for the students of backward and poor classes of the community.

Student Hostel / Accommodation

Providing low-cost accommodation facilities for students near the community hall.

Women Empowerment

Conducting free self-employment training programs specifically for women.

Large Community Hall Construction

Constructing a grand community hall with accommodation and educational expansion facilities on an 80x60 feet site allotted by MLA Sri D.R. Patil in Narsapur Ashraya Colony, estimated at 80 lakh rupees.
